Northern Illinois Women's Center is a physician-owned freestanding outpatient family planning clinic offering a wide range of reproductive health information and services in a comfortable, supportive secure environment. 

The clinic was founded in 1973 by Dr. Richard Ragsdale, a board-certified Obstetrician/Gynecologists who devoted his professional career to providing quality medical care to the women of Rockford and the rest of Northern Illinois.  Despite unconscionable harassment, his unwavering commitment to his patient's health and right to reproductive choice continued unabated from the day he opened the clinic until is untimely death from cancer in 2004. 

Since then, the clinic has been directed by Dr. Dennis Christensen, a board certified OB/GYN from Madison, WI and long time friend and colleague of Dr. Ragsdale.
